Christian Retreat
and Study Centre is a Church
based Institution founded
in 1954 with the initiative of Rev James Payne Alter,
a Presbyterian Missionary from U.S.A. and a few like
minded people. Rev Alter was the founding Director and
Rev Dr C H Hazlett was the founding Chairman of the
Board of Management of CRSC. It is ecumenical in nature
and is managed by a Board of Management. Over these
years it has grown significantly and is rendering service
to the Church and society. It provides
basic religious Education to Christians
and others through retreats and seminars and provides
facilities of the Centre to the Churches, Church related
Bodies and Non-Government Organizations for conducting
retreats, seminars, workshops, conferences, meetings
etc. CRSC is an Autonomous Body registered under the
Societies Registration Act, Foreign Contribution Regulation
Act and Income Tax Act. CRSC has completed 56 years
of service to the Church and Society.
During these 56 years this Centre has been serving as
a place for spiritual nourishment and source of inspiration
for many. Hundreds of young boys and girls, pastors
and leaders, laymen and women have found touching experiences
in and through the various programs of this Centre.
